Oxygen Hot Tub System

Hot Tub / Spa Oxygen System, an alternative to Chlorine and Bromine

Oxygen System

Active oxygen can be used as an alternative sanitiser for your hot tub water. Oxygen is a much milder solution to chlorine and bromine, so it is recommended for bathers with sensitive skin.

Oxygen sanitiser is a combination of tablets and liquid. Both must be used for it to work.

Daily Hot Tub Use:
An oxygen level of between 5-10mg/l must be maintained in your hot tub at all times. Prior to bathing add one 20g tablet per 1,500 litres of spa water (one 20g tablet per day should be sufficient for normal daily spa use). Note: 10ml = approximately 10g

Weekly Hot Tub Maintenance:
When performing the weekly maintenance, it is important to ensure the pumps are running and the hot tub is uncovered.
  • Clean the filters with a hose pipe to remove any debris build up and leave to dry afterwards
  • Add 1x 20g Oxygen Tablet per 1500 litres
  • Add 15ml of Oxygen Liquid per 1500 litres
  • Use test strips to ensure the pH level is between 7.0 - 7.4
  • Check the oxygen level is 5mg/l or more, if low add another oxygen tablet
  • Add 35g of chlorine shock (per 1500 litres)
Quarterly Hot tub Maintenance:
  • Remove & soak the filters overnight in filter cleaner, rinse with hose pipe and leave to dry
  • Fully drain hot tub and fill with fresh water
  • Balance pH by following steps in the weekly maintenance schedule 7.0 - 7.4
  • To sanitise the fresh water add 2 x 20g oxygen tablets and per 60ml of oxygen liquid per 1500 litres of water
